The CSSS will be having our second Semi-Annual General Meeting for the 2016-2017 school year on Thursday, March 16, 2016. All CS students are invited to attend. We will be discussing the current year and also looking for feedback as to how the club is run and how the club will be running next year. We are also going to discuss the election results for the Executive Team next year.
We have a ton of cool games in games in the Cube, but they’re often neglected for that one particular game. So we’ve decided to give a chance for these forgotten gems to shine. One day every week, we will showcasing a video game and a board game, so you can come to the Cube to try them out.
We will be starting this Friday at 4:30pm and this week we will be showcasing the video game Nintendoland and the board game Dominion.
Have your own (multiplayer) game that you think would be cool for people to try? Feel free to bring it in and share the fun!
It may be March, but it’s still not too late to meet new people! You will get a chance to do so while getting cheap dinner at our upcoming Table for Four event. At this event, you will be randomly placed into teams of 4 people and you will be competing with other teams in a fun night of trivia, games, and not to mention FOOD!
Yes, that’s right, dinner (with dessert!) will be provided at this event. Details of the event are below:

Love is in the air. Whether it’s a special someone or a really good friend, we all have someone we would like to show our appreciation to. The UBC Computer Science Student Society will help you do just that by delivering* candygrams filled with yummy chocolates and candies on Valentine’s Day (Tuesday, February 14) to these special people.
To make it even better, this service will be FREE for the first 150 students enrolled in the CS department as well as first year students. (Max 1 free candygram per student)

Welcome to the 2017 Technical Career Fair. Traditionally held in January at the UBC campus, the fair offers you an opportunity to meet our students, survey their potential as future employees, and alert them to job and career opportunities in your company.
Last year, over 50 companies attended the Tech Career Fair to meet undergraduate and graduate students from a wide range of disciplines, including Computer Science, Cognitive Systems, Engineering Physics, and Electrical and Computer Engineering. This is a wonderful way for students to showcase their portfolio, and network with a wide range of companies to find out about internships and post-graduate career opportunities.
The 2017 Technical Career Fair will be held on Thursday, January 26th, 2017 from 10AM to 4PM in the West Atrium of the Life Sciences Centre. Hope to see you there!
